LECTURE – Creative Resistance – the role of cultural work under occupation

Within this participative lecture Nabila Irshaid will illustrate her approach to creative resistance.  She will show excerpts of her film HOPE BUSINESS which portrays the cultural scene in Ramallah. What does creativity look like when approached from these angles Which value does creativity have under occupation?

The participative lecture will be held in English.

Nabila Irshaid is an artist and filmmaker whose work focuses on political transformation, particularly in relation to women’s rights and solidarity economy. She has participated in numerous international exhibitions and screenings, including at the MIT List Visual Arts Center (Cambridge, USA), Institut du Monde Arabe (Paris, France), ZKM (Karlsruhe, Germany), Museum der Moderne (Salzburg, Austria), and Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Berlin, Germany), among others. She has received several awards for her artistic work. She earned her diploma from the HfBK Hamburg (Germany) in 1999.
