The project Terrestrial Cosmologies – Moving along Rivers and Mountains is an experimental cooperation between art and design students, lecturers and practitioners from Vienna, Batman and Hamburg. Integrating the fields of art education, experimental and eco-social design, site-specific poetry, and artistic research, the interdisciplinary program explores decolonial pedagogical methodologies, community practices and artistic/design approaches within rural infrastructures along the Tigris river in the Kurdish region of Southeast Turkey.
Terrestrial Cosmologies took place between 19th-26th April 2026 within the Erasmus BIP program as a collaboration between the Batman University Turkiye, Fine Arts Academy (Prof. Pelin Tan), University of Fine Arts Hamburg, Experimental Design Class (Prof. Dr. Jesko Fezer), and the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Art and Communication Practices (Prof. Annette Krauss, Prof. Sofia Bempeza).
